Welcome to the ICAP website! Since we were founded in 1995, we have taken the lead in forging new ways of looking at alcohol policies. We are committed to examining all the available evidence on the key issues of the day and producing materials that are objective and balanced, based on thorough and unbiased analysis.

The international community is currently looking at how to develop a global strategy to reduce harmful alcohol consumption. At ICAP, we are participating actively in that process, both through our cooperation in all relevant consultations and through the development of special reports and publications intended to promote an inclusive and transparent approach to policy development.

As a major alcohol policy think tank, we have over the years produced a wide range of books, reports, and reviews, all of which can be accessed through this website. We are also seeking to expand our coverage in languages beyond English and to involve the widest possible range of partners in all our activities.

At ICAP, we share a conviction that beverage alcohol deserves to be treated with respect, both by those who produce and sell it and by those who choose to consume it. We make no secret of the fact that ICAP is sponsored by major international drinks companies. We see their financial support as testimony to the seriousness of their intentions to play an active role in seeking solutions to alcohol problems around the world.
