Philippe de Witte

Philippe de Witte heads the Biologie du Comportement department at the Université Catholique de Louvain. His research interests include pharmacology and neurobiology of addiction including therapeutics and treatments. He has published more than 200 articles, twice as many abstracts and several chapters in handbook dedicated to alcohol and alcoholism.

He is Editor-in-Chief for Alcohol and Alcoholism and serves on the editorial boards of a number of international journals. He was President of the European Society for Biomedical Research on Alcoholism (ESBRA) for two terms from 1993-2001 and also President of the International Society for Biomedical Research on Alcoholism (ISBRA) from 1998 to 2002. He is currently the scientific Chairman of the European Research Advisory Board (ERAB).
