Policy Issues
ICAP’s approach to policy development relies on three basic principles:
drinking patterns are the most reliable predictors of outcomes; targeted
interventions aimed at specific individuals and groups, contexts and behaviors
are key in maximizing the benefits and minimizing the harms related to drinking;
and multi-stakeholder partnerships are an excellent opportunity to promote the
complex mix of measures required by each society. We have developed
various tools to assist those developing policy or prevention approaches on a
range of key issues.
A comprehensive policy guide is offered in the ICAP Blue Book.
