Bisi Odejide
is a Consultant Psychiatrist with the University of Ibadan, Ibadan,
Nigeria. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, U.K.
(1986), Fellow of the West African College of Physicians (1980) and
Fellow of National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (1981). He
obtained the Doctor of Medicine Degree of the University of Ibadan in
1985. at the University of Ibadan, he teaches undergraduate and
postgraduate medical students and offers clinical services and
research. He served as pioneer Director of Drug Demand Reduction Unit
of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (1990-1993). He was the
editor-in-chief, West African Medical Journal (1986-1991) and Director,
Institute for Advanced Medical Research and Training (1998-2002). His
publications focus mainly on Alcohol and Substance Abuse, examples are

health hazard in Nigeria (1978); Alcohol use in a sub-group of literate
in Nigerians (1978); Use and abuse of alcohol in Africa: An overview

Young People in Nigeria: A qualitative analysis (2004). He served as a
consultant to WHO on substance abuse including alcohol. He has been
working as a senior consultant to ICAP since its inception. |
