Alcohol, Ethics & Society
Dublin, Ireland
16-18 October 2002
A
Call to Action
Alcohol,
Ethics, & Society will address important issues concerning the role of
alcohol in society, with emphasis on dialogue among stakeholders.
Participants
will be asked to identify specific "rights" and
"responsibilities" for all parties in the alcohol debate. The
position of the consumer, subject to diverse and often conflicting influences,
will be examined. The conference is intended to explore general conclusions
about the roles of key stakeholders in the sometimes contentious alcohol
debate, identifying ethical principles that should guide them. Participants
will have the opportunity to propose concrete steps to translate these
principles into action.
The
working language of the conference will be English.
